Permanent residence permit in Ukraine
Ukrainian legislation provides for two types of residence permits:
A residence permit is a document of the established form, which gives the right to stay (enter and leave) in Ukraine during the entire period of its validity. The validity of a temporary residence permit is limited to one-three year (if necessary and there are grounds, it can be extended for the next year), a permanent residence permit is issued and is valid during 10 years.
A permanent residence permit is a document that gives the right to stay / reside on the territory of Ukraine for an unlimited period.
The basic cost of residence is $900.
The processing time is from 3 to 12 months.
A foreigner holding a permanent residence permit in Ukraine:
- have not to obtain a work permit in Ukraine;
- can obtain visas for travel to other countries in Ukrainian; embassies / consulates;
- has all the rights of a citizen of Ukraine, except for the electoral and some others;
- the opportunity to get a loan to buy something in Ukraine (including housing and a car);
- has grounds for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship;
The following categories of foreigners / stateless persons can obtain a permanent residence permit in Ukraine:
- workers of science and culture, whose immigration is in the interests of Ukraine;
- highly qualified specialists and workers, the urgent need for which is tangible for the Ukrainian economy;
- persons who have made a foreign investment in the economy of Ukraine with foreign converted currency in the amount of at least 100 (one hundred) thousand US dollars, registered in the manner determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- persons who are a full-blooded brother or sister, grandfather or grandmother, grandson or granddaughter of Ukrainian citizens;
- persons who previously were citizens of Ukraine;
- parents, spouse / spouse of the immigrant and his minor children;
- persons continuously residing on the territory of Ukraine for three years from the date of granting them refugee status in Ukraine or asylum in Ukraine, as well as their parents, spouse) and minor children living with them;
- one of the spouses, if the other of the spouses, with whom he has been married for more than two years, is a citizen of Ukraine, children and parents of citizens of Ukraine;
- persons who are guardians or trustees of citizens of Ukraine, or are under the care of citizens of Ukraine;
- persons entitled to acquire Ukrainian citizenship by territorial origin;
- persons whose immigration is of state interest for Ukraine;
- foreign Ukrainians, spouses of foreign Ukrainians, their children in the event of their common entry and stay on the territory of Ukraine.
The list of documents for obtaining a permanent residence permit consists of two parts:
- general list of documents
- special additional documents
General list of documents for obtaining a permanent residence permit in Ukraine:
1. A copy of the foreigner's passport with a notarized translation into Ukrainian.
2. Documents confirming the right to obtain a permanent residence permit in Ukraine;
3. Certificate of no criminal record on the territory of Ukraine.
4. Documents confirming the ownership of the apartment at the place of future registration - the contract of sale, donation, etc.
5. Statement of all homeowners that they are not against the further registration of a foreigner.
6. 8 color photographs measuring 3.5 * 4.5 centimeters on a matte base.
